Ukrainian contemporary art continues its international journey—this time on another continent.
The Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago has opened “The Dear Road / Doroga Doroha”, an exhibition of contemporary Ukrainian art bringing together 25 works by 11 Ukrainian artists.
The exhibition focuses on the image of the road as a multi-layered symbol of one’s life path, inner movement, and the enduring value of home and homeland. By weaving together personal and collective experiences, the exhibition reflects on the contemporary Ukrainian context, where the road is not only a metaphor, but also a lived reality of daily choices, departures, and returns.
We invite you to experience how the exhibition expands the international dialogue on contemporary Ukrainian art, placing it firmly within the global cultural landscape.
Exhibition dates: February 6 – March 1, 2026
The opening was attended by more than 200 guests, including residents of Chicago and members of the Ukrainian diaspora.
The exhibition was officially opened by:
— Khrystyna Berehovska, Director of ZAG Gallery, Doctor of Art History, Professor at the Lviv National Academy of Arts.
— Lidiya Tkachuk, President of the Ukrainian National Museum in Chicago.
